Travel Agents Event Management
It does not matter the size of the conference or where it is, travel agents can be a major help in their planning. Travel agents can be especially helpful if it is an international conference. Travel agents can have knowledge of the area as well as such things as transportation, accommodations, and hospitality issues. One of the main hassles when planning a conference is taking care of the needs of the people attending. It doesn't matter if it is a press release, convention, training seminar, or product launch, travel agents can take care of many of the needs of the attendees so that the people attending or the people running the conferences do not have to worry about those details. The larger the conference the more travel agents can be of service.
One of the main ways that travel agents can help with conferences is with transportation and travel needs. Many times if the conference is international the people attending the conference will need a way to get there. Travel agents can help with flight, train or bus information as well as procuring tickets. The larger the group travelling to a conference the more travel agents can be used and many times they can also get better deals. Travel agents are in direct contact with airlines, train lines, and bus services so they can find out if there is space available as well as the best price for the ticket. They can also contact charter services, as it may be cheaper to travel this way for larger groups. Another advantage of using travel agents is that they can be available to coordinate travel times so that it can be easier, once the people arrive, that they do so around the same time making it easier to either get to accommodations or to the conference itself.
Another beneficial aspect when using travel agents when dealing with conferences are accommodation issues. Much like travel issues the travel agent can have direct contact with hotels and inns as they can find accommodations for people that are travelling to the conference. Also much like travel they may be able to find better rates than if the people travelling to the conference booked accommodations themselves. One thing that travel agents have as well are information about package deals, which can save people, or a company, a lot of money as travel, accommodation, and transportation services can all be packaged in one deal. When people travel out of town to go to a conference they will also have transportation needs so they can get to and from the conference itself. They can also help with such things as arranging for car rentals and taxi services to and from the conference. Travel agents can also find accommodations that are closest to the conference site. If a travel agent is working with one group of people there is also a better chance that they will be staying in one location, or, at least, close to each other. This is a crucial aspect of a conference if many people from one organization or company are in attendance.
While travel agents can be used for many types of conferences one of the most important ways in which they can be used is for companies that need to have many employees in attendance. For example, if the company is having a training seminar for hundreds of employees their main goal is to make sure that the seminar runs smoothly. The company needs to find a conference site and deal with the information that will be presented at a seminar. If the company uses travel agents there is a huge amount of time and resources that can be saved that can be used in areas of more importance. Any time that the company needs to take care of the travel needs of the people in attendance travel agents should be used.
Travel agents can also be of service when dealing with hospitality issues as well. If the conference runs more than one day they can find out information such as where to eat and what there is to do in the area that people are travelling to. If the people that attend the conference do everything for themselves they will not be as informed, as if a travel agents took care of them. Travel agents can find restaurants, make reservations, book lunches, and rent out halls, just to name a few things they can do.
The hassles that can arise when travelling to conventions can be great for the people travelling to them and the people running them. By using travel agents many of those hassles are taken care of. When dealing with conferences, especially international ones and ones where many people will be in attendance, the things that travel agents can take care can be invaluable to both the company and/or the traveller.

Follow These Three Steps For A Great Flight
Airline travel is certainly fast, but with all the rules and regulations, it is quickly becoming more and more uncomfortable. Some of the downsides include being crammed into confining seats, being fed artificial tasting meals, and experiencing the annoying and frustrating delays and lost luggage that sometime seems more like the rule than the exception.
There was a time when traveling used to be a joy, but nowadays it feels like a necessary evil, especially if you travel frequently for business, for pleasure or for work. Nevertheless, the good news is that there are things that you can do to make travel as comfortable and as pleasant as possible. Unless you can afford the luxuries of private jet travel, you'll have to find ways to cope with the inconveniences of commercial flights.
Here are three easy ways to make your flights a bit more comfortable:
1. Get a good seat. If you have even been sandwiched in the middle seat of a row on a long flight, then you know what being "uncomfortable" is all about. To avoid it, be early checking in and request the check-in agent for an aisle seat. If you are late checking in for a fully booked flight, chances are you will be the one in the middle seat.
2. Get First class or Priority tags for your luggage. Bags that have first class or priority tags on them get handled first. Look for them to come off the plane first, which means they get in to the baggage area much quicker. Importantly, even if you travel economy or coach class, you may be able to benefit from this service if you have one of these tags. Some airlines may give you a first class tag if you ask for it. Otherwise, you may also want to make your own tag in advance. You can do this by having a brightly colored card stamped with the word "priority" and lamented at a local printer. It does not get any easier than that. This is certain to get the attention of the baggage handlers, which means you can collect your luggage and get you to your hotel much quicker.
3. Combat the adverse affects of dry/oxygen deficient air. For passengers that suffer from cardiovascular and respiratory ailments, or that are concerned about flight induced dehydration, the poor quality of cabin air may pose certain threats. These travelers should drink at least one glass of bottled water for each hour that they are in flight, as well as avoid coffee, tea, alcohol, colas and any beverage with a diuretic effect.
In the age we live in, air travel is bound to continue to have it hassles, but we can take steps to make our flights as comfortable as possible. Sometimes it's the simple small things we do that can make the biggest difference!

Get A Cheap Airline Ticket
Taking off for a week in Europe or a long weekend in the Caribbean may sound exciting, but for a poor secretary, vacations are usually out of the question. However, it is possible to whisk yourself away on an exotic escape if you know how to get the cheapest airline tickets out there.
For starters, you need to know how airline pricing works. In the airline game, there is no set pricing no constant $100 dollars for Row 10, Seat A. Prices are constantly shifting due to supply and demand. If a flight begins to fill quickly, airlines may raise prices on remaining seats to increase profits. Consequently, prices may go down on a flight thats nearly empty. Other factors at play include competition for certain destinations, an airlines market share on desirable routes and more.
Pricing decisions occur rapidly throughout the day and may change without warning. This information is communicated through a set of four central reservation systems, which in turn pass this information on to travel agents, discount travel websites and other ticket retailers. For this reason, you may get the best deal by consulting a travel agent. Travel websites may have good deals, but a travel agent has been trained to work with the reservation systems and knows how to locate bargain flights.
The key to getting a good deal is to be open and flexible in your vacation planning. If youre dead set on going to Paris on October 22nd, you may have to settle for whatever fares you can find. Start searching early (at least 1-2 months) to get the best deals. However, if you arent set on a specific date or time of day, you should be able to reduce your costs most airlines offer lower fares for mid-week travel and red-eye flights.
If youre totally flexible, you may be able to score a last-minute bargain. Many airlines offer deep discounts on tickets in the week before a flight to fill any remaining empty seats. Discount travel sites like Travelocity and Expedia often offer package deals including flights, hotel stays and car rentals. Why not explore your adventurous side by setting aside some vacation time for the future and picking your trip the day or two before you leave?
Check the airport closest to you for small discount airlines that may offer low fares on flights to specific destinations. Jet Blue offers a $49 flight each way from Boston to New York City perfect for a weekend getaway. Also look for smaller airports if you cant fly into Detroit Metro Airport, you may be able to land at the Willow Run or Ann Arbor Municipal airports.
Are you a Triple AAA member? A senior citizen? A student? Some airlines offer discounts for these demographics and bonuses for frequent flyers. You may also find a good deal from a ticket consolidator. These companies purchase discounted tickets directly from the airlines avoiding the reservation systems altogether and may offer them at further discounts. But be sure you buy from a reputable website like Lowestfare.com or CheapTickets.com small start-ups can go out of business overnight, leaving you with an invalid ticket.
No matter what you do, be sure to check for any restrictions on your ticket. Some deals may require a 21-day advance purchase, a Saturday night stay in your location or steep cancellation fees. Always read the fine print before spending your hard-earned money any mistake you make is on your hands, not the airlines. Once youve made your ticket purchase, sit back, relax and try not to gloat about the good deal you got on your vacation.
